**When it comes to serving hot food, many people wonder whether plastic containers are a safe and sustainable choice.** With concerns about food safety, environmental impact, and convenience, it’s essential to choose the right packaging for the job. Let’s dive into the facts and explore some eco-friendly alternatives that are better for both your food and the planet.

# The Problem with Traditional Plastic Containers

Traditional plastic food containers are often made from materials that can warp or release harmful chemicals when exposed to high temperatures. Some plastics contain BPA or other toxins that may leach into food, especially when heated. Additionally, many plastic containers are not biodegradable, leading to long-term waste issues.

You can read more from the UK's Food Standard's Agency on BPA's in Plastic here - [https://www.food.gov.uk/safety-hygiene/bpa-in-plastic](https://www.food.gov.uk/safety-hygiene/bpa-in-plastic)

### Microwave-Safe and Sustainable Solutions

Thankfully, not all food containers pose these problems. At **[The Takeaway Food Packaging Co](https://thetakeawayfoodpackagingco.com/)**, we prioritize environmentally friendly hot food packaging solutions that are both safe and practical. Our **[Kraft Soup Containers](https://thetakeawayfoodpackagingco.com/collections/soup-containers) **and **[Kraft Round Food Bowls](https://thetakeawayfoodpackagingco.com/products/8oz-kraft-container-pack-of-500) **are excellent alternatives for hot food.

### Why Choose Kraft Containers for Hot Food?

- **Microwave-Safe & Heat-Resistant** – Unlike many plastic containers, our kraft food bowls and containers are designed to withstand high temperatures without warping or leaching chemicals.
- **Eco-Friendly Materials** – Made from sustainably sourced kraft paper, these containers are a renewable alternative to plastic.
- **Biodegradable & Compostable** – Unlike traditional plastic, kraft containers break down naturally, reducing landfill waste.
- **Strong & Durable** – Designed to hold soups, stews, pasta, and other hot meals without leaking or becoming soggy.

### Make the Switch to Sustainable Packaging

If you’re in the foodservice industry or simply looking for a safer way to store and serve hot meals, choosing microwaveable, eco-friendly packaging is a win-win.
